Gone Baby Gone
Director: Ben Affleck
Starring: Casey Affleck, Ed Harris, Michelle Monaghan and Morgan Freeman
Year: 2008

With Ben Affleck taking a well needed
break from the Hollywood limelight he decided to make it return sat in the directors chair. Could he be following in the foot steps of others... Clint Eastwood. It worked for him and has seemed to work for Affleck too. Ben Affleck also roped in the help of his younger brother Casey whose good looks, rugged voice and outstanding acting ability all added to this superb masterpiece.
The story line through-out is an emotional roller coaster with ups and downs and twists and turns. Ben has managed to get the right balance though giving you enough twists but with explanations to not make your head explore with frustration because the plot was never fully closed. You will be pleasantly surprised by the amount of thrilling and action filled cinema the film has to offer. while also catering for the emotional types who like to look at people not talking with a sunset behind them. With the story being about child abduction this film may not be for the overly emotional or faint hearted at some points.
All the acting was outstanding with Ed Harris again portraying a rough-less man who wont stop till he gets what he wants like in History of Violence. Casey the same reminiscing about his time in the wild west on Assassination of Jesse James similarly reels out long meaningful but extremely powerful dialogue. Similarly Ben Affleck has surprised me with his excellent and fitting cinematography choices and casting. Although it is his brother Casey fits the role very well, with his character being to the point but in with the gangsters, Casey being a skinny white boy bring another unexpected twist.
Overall definably one to see but be prepared for an epic but thrilling emotional roller coaster. Affleck may have finally found his calling and decide to hang up the actors coat and stop making films like Jersey Girl.
